The needs
They wished to have a simultaneous new product launch in several European markets in a 24 month timeframe. In parallel, they needed a new European operation to manage this product and subsequent new products, whilst embedding certain European governance and management practices in the corporation.
How we helped
Skarbek project managed the complex set of issues leading towards the launch, including supply chain, regulatory approval, quality assurance, distribution, medical marketing and salesforce. We also assisted with the appointment of three country General Managers, and established plans for the build-up of wider teams. Considerable cultural sensitivity was needed to coordinate the parent company processes with those in the new markets. Skarbek identified key learnings on project management, governance and culture, which could benefit the Head Office as they expand to further new markets. Finally, we assisted with the transition from a launch focus to sustainable operations in the new markets.
The results
Launch in the 3 targeted European markets was successfully delivered. The client expressed strong satisfaction about the project – a clear process, control mechanisms, momentum towards delivery. The client’s confidence about introducing other new products to the European market using the same systems has led to them commissioning ongoing assistance from Skarbek.
