Strengths and Career Achievements

Andy Grieves is a Principal Consultant at Skarbek Associates.  He was previously Vice President, Manufacturing Strategy for Ipsen Biopharm where he led the development of their 10 year Manufacturing Strategy. This involved assessing various locations in the USA and Ireland for potential new manufacturing sites and negotiating with Government Agencies on grants and incentives.  Andy also established Ipsen’s global External Supply capability for both Specialty Care and Consumer Healthcare products.  He led the Supply Chain due diligence on potential new product acquisitions at Ipsen. Andy had a long career with GSK where he ran manufacturing sites in the UK and Australia.  He established a successful collaboration with Monash University, the Victorian Government and GSK whilst leading the Melbourne factory. He has extensive experience of major network change programmes to refocus sites on core technologies, increasing capacity utilisation across the network and divesting non-core sites.  Andy has experience of rapidly ramping up capability for global supply of an anti-viral drug during the Swine Flu pandemic as well as enhancing product quality standards to enable successful supply to Japan. He holds a Batchelors Degree in Applied Chemistry, participated on the Business Economic Forum at Said Business School (Oxford University) and is a Lean Sigma Green Belt.
