Anton is a senior supply chain and operations leader with over 38 years of experience working for both GlaxoSmithKline and Abbott. He has deep experience with directing large, complex E2E supply chains for pharmaceutical products, Branded Generics as well as OTC products across developed and developing markets. 

He ensures that supply chain operations align to the overall business strategy and delivers a competitive advantage.

Anton has international experience of roles with increasing seniority from Plant leadership roles to global operations leadership spanning six continents over 38 years. 

He has direct experience of integrating the supply chain of a number of new businesses as a result of high-profile mergers and acquisitions. He has also led Business Transformation Programs together with high profile consultancies to deliver greater efficiency, lower costs and better integrated supply chains.

Strengths and Career Achievements

Anton has natural leadership and relationship management skills with a strong industry network and a strong desire for continuous development and learning. 

He is particularly skilled at navigating heavily matrixed organisations and building effective internal and external business-business relationships at all levels. 

Before joining Skarbek, he was Divisional Vice President of Operations for Abbott Laboratories Established pharmaceuticals division based in Switzerland. In this role, he was responsible for a complex network of 30 manufacturing sites supported by a CMO network of over 300 suppliers as well as key functional support groups i.e., Supplier relationship office, supply chain, engineering, MS&T, Enterprise Excellence and Network Strategy.  

He has years of experience working for GSK and its legacy companies in roles of increasing importance. Firstly, in site-based roles in South Africa, and then London based roles overseeing operations in Africa Followed by international and then SVP Global manufacturing for the consumer healthcare division responsible for the manufacturing supply chain of a rapidly growing business. He also led a supply chain transformation program for the consumer business leading to substantial savings and improved E2E delivery capability. 

Anton is a registered pharmacist and holds a diploma in Industrial Administrations. He has also participated in various executive education programs at Stanford university, University of Michigan and the IMD. He is a Trustee of a charity focused on community development through Sport in Africa.
