Strengths and Career Achievements

Before joining Skarbek, he was Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets, for Abbott Laboratories Established Pharmaceuticals Division. In this role Sean was primarily responsible for driving the business. A notable achievement in this role was leading a cross functional, cross geographic team to define and drive a 5 year strategy to optimise Abbott’s performance and footprint in emerging markets.

Sean has been recognised for his strong commercial acumen and analytical skills to identify key opportunities and issues for the organisation to address. He has led organisational change both in Europe as a General Manager of the Balkans with Takeda, and in Asia as Vice President Asia Pacific with Abbott. He has held numerous positions with several Global Pharmaceutical companies in both strategic and delivery based roles with a focus on operational execution excellence, cross functional working, organisation capability building and leadership development.

Before his business career Sean was in Postgraduate research in applied pharmacology at the National Heart and Lung Institute. He holds Bachelor of Science degree from King’s College London as well as a postgraduate diploma in marketing.
